Kiama Council lists Attunga Avenue Reserve, a headland in Kiama Heights overlooking [Easts Beach](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/beaches/easts-beach-kiama/), as a wedding ceremony venue. Destination Kiama suggests it for intimate ceremonies, with Kaleula Head Reserve, also on Council's list, for a more casual coastal feel and Bonaira Native Gardens for a ceremony under native trees. Public reserves are booked through Kiama Council with an [application to hire a public reserve](https://www.kiama.nsw.gov.au/Facilities/Community-Halls-for-hire/Application-to-hire-a-public-reserve). Call Council on (02) 4232 0444 to check fees, timing and what you can set up before you send invitations. ### Attunga Avenue Reserve Attunga Avenue, Kiama Heights A headland reserve overlooking Easts Beach that Council lists as a wedding ceremony venue. Four have a king, a queen and two singles, and [3-Bed with Alfresco Dining](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/alfresco-dining/) has a king, a queen and a double. Otherwise, the only difference is the floor. Apartment | Floor | Setting | Pets on request | [First Floor 3-Bed Unit by the Ocean](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/first-floor-ocean/) | First | Stairs to the front door, with [wheelchair](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/plan-your-trip/accessible-kiama/) lifts | Yes | [3-Bed Apartment with Study Nook](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/study-nook/) | First | Stairs to the front door, with wheelchair lifts | No | [Ground Floor 3-Bed Home in Kiama's Heart](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/kiama-heart/) | Ground | Garden outlook, no stairs to the front door | Yes | [3-Bed Kiama Unit with Courtyard](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/courtyard/) | Ground | Garden outlook, no stairs to the front door | Yes | [3-Bed with Alfresco Dining](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/apartments/alfresco-dining/) | Ground | Garden outlook, no stairs to the front door | Yes | Because every apartment is the same, deciding who goes where comes down to the floor. Put grandparents in one of the garden apartments on the ground floor, with no stairs to carry luggage up. If the dog is coming, keep it out of 3-Bed Apartment with Study Nook and read about [bringing the dog to the wedding weekend](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/stay/pet-friendly/), including the $200 pet cleaning fee. Shellharbour Airport is about 20 minutes away by car, and Wollongong about 35. Trains between Sydney and Kiama run hourly, according to Destination Kiama. Kiama station is a 27-minute walk (2.2 km) from the apartments, so guests with luggage or formal shoes will want a lift. Check train times on the [Transport NSW trip planner](https://transportnsw.info/). Plan the trip home from the reception before the day. The Pavilion Kiama, for example, finishes weddings by 11:30pm. Destination Kiama lists Illawarra Taxi Network, [Berry](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/towns/berry-day-trip/) Taxi and Uber in the area, but a pre-booked taxi or shuttle is the surer option late at night. Each apartment has secure parking for two cars, so drivers can leave the car there overnight. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out is by 10am. If your ceremony is early on Saturday, arrive on Friday so the bridal party wakes up already in place. ## Turn the wedding into a long weekend Guests who have driven down from Sydney or flown in tend to stay on.
