Check in from 3pm and park in your garage. ## Let the dog run on Kiama's off-leash headlands Beyond Bombo and Jones Beach, Kiama has a string of grassy headlands where dogs can run off the lead. The closest to the apartments is Marsden Head, which Kiama Council describes as a popular [off-leash](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/beaches/dog-friendly-beaches-kiama/) area between [Easts Beach](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/beaches/easts-beach-kiama/) and the [Little Blowhole](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/landmarks-and-walks/little-blowhole/). Easts Beach is a 15-minute walk from your door, and the headland sits just beyond it. Keep your dog on a lead on the way in and out, and carry bags. Down on Werri Beach, off Pacific Avenue, dogs can run off the lead in the middle of the beach only, from sunrise to sunset, so follow the signs. Gerringong is about 10 minutes by car. Council also bans dogs, on or off the lead: - within 10 metres of playground equipment, public barbecues and kiosks - from public bathing areas - from sports fields while organised sport is on - from shopping areas, unless a business allows them - from park interiors, though the outside footpaths are fine - from the water areas of the [Minnamurra River](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/things-to-do/minnamurra-river/), and the water and sand of Crooked River The [Kiama Coast Walk](https://ridgewaterskiama.com.au/explore-kiama/landmarks-and-walks/kiama-coast-walk/) is open to dogs on a lead for its full length of more than 20 km. Transport for NSW doesn't allow pets on trains or at stations, so the South Coast line is out unless your dog is an accredited assistance animal.
